Pressure Relief Valves
The cheap part that saves the expensive one: relief valves set and tested for your duty.

What they are
The last line of defence when a discharge line blocks or a valve closes on a running machine. A correctly set relief valve is the difference between a hiss and a rebuild.
What we do
- Relief valves sized and set for your duty.
- Testing and resetting during service visits.
- Replacements where valves are seized, missing or wrongly rated.
- Line-pressure sanity checks while we are there.
Getting the choice right
A relief valve is sized and set, never just bought. The set pressure has to sit above the working pressure with sensible margin, and below what the machine and pipework can stand. Line size, temperature and mounting orientation all play a part.
If you can't say when yours was last tested, that is the answer: it needs testing.
What goes wrong
- Seized valves: painted over, corroded or never exercised. They fail on the one day they're needed.
- Chattering: set too close to working pressure. Noisy, wearing, and a sign the sums want doing again.
- Weeping in normal running: seat wear or a wrong setting, wasting power around the clock.
- Missing entirely: found on inherited installations more often than anyone would like.
Typical duties
every positive displacement installation.
