Bare Shaft Blowers

Replacement bare shaft machines to re-power an existing package without touching the pipework.

What they are

The machine alone: no motor, no enclosure. The economical fix when the package around a worn blower is still sound.

What we do

  • Like-for-like bare shaft replacements across all major makes.
  • Refurbished exchange stages to cut lead time.
  • Fitting: alignment, drives, guards and commissioning.
  • Obsolete-model matching where the original is out of production.

Getting the choice right

The bare shaft decision is about what is worth keeping. If the base, motor, enclosure and pipework are sound, a new stage drops in for a fraction of a package price. If the surroundings are tired too, the sums change, and we'll tell you which side of the line you're on.

Matching matters: shaft heights, rotation, port positions and drive arrangement all have to agree with what's there. The nameplate and a few photos usually settle it.

What goes wrong

  • Wrong rotation or ports on a substitute machine: the classic pitfall of buying on price from a catalogue.
  • Misalignment after fitting: it eats couplings, belts and bearings. We align and prove it under load.
  • Old motor, new blower: a worn drive can take out a fresh stage. We check both.
  • Obsolete originals: usually matched from a current range rather than scrapped. Ask before you condemn the package.
